IHBI began our home building project at Grande Vista Bay on lot #365 in Section Five during December of 2006.  In only three months we have reached the following milestones, including inspections:

  • Excavation, Footings, Piers, Foundation, Concrete Garage & Porches
  • Two Story Frame & Roof, with windows and doors installed
  • Rough-In Electrical, Plumbing & HVAC
  • Selection and purchase of all materials except interior trim moldings & stair parts

We consider this excellent progress and we are extremely pleased with the service and value we have received from IHBI.

If we listed all of the areas of satisfaction we have found in IHBI it might be embarrassing to their humble personalities, so we list only a few so that the list might encourage you at least enough to investigate whether IHBI is a match for you:

  • Ability to locate quality, trustworthy subcontractors plus skill in managing and negotiating with same
  • Practicality in materials purchase with an eye toward creativity, taste and sense of style
  • Willingness to communicate, open-mindedness, responsiveness, personable-ness and ease of interaction
  • Knowledge of stringent Roane County building codes – familiarity with county officials and organizations
  • Cost control, budgeting, forecasting
  • Scheduling of processes, installation sequences and time management
  • Last, but certainly not least, integrity (hones, dependable, strength of character)

There are so many moving parts and parties involved in home building that it is unrealistic not to expect to experience some challenge, frustration and surprise.  However, on balance, the number and magnitude of the issues has been more than eclipsed by our satisfaction with the overall result.  We have found these experiences to be part of the fun and IHBI has maintained a similar sense of humor, which has made it easier on us all!  Please feel free to stop in on us and ask questions about our continued experience with IHBI at Grande Vista Bay in Rockwood, TN.

My spouse, Arlene, and I began working with Mr. Wright in the summer of 2005, as we planned our retirement home located at 644 Emory River Road, near Kingston, Tennessee. 

We find Mr. Wright to be very knowledgeable in the trades, and experienced in a variety of home constructions.  He always listened to our questions, showed us options, and helped us to understand.  His demeanor is friendly and helpful, and we always felt free to discuss anything with him.  Likewise, his own crew is experienced and communicates well with the home-owner.  His sub-contractors are professional and skilled in their craft.  Prices and costs were easily understood by us.
